1. Who we are
“Avalon,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the team developing the Avalon wearable and operating joinavalon.xyz. This policy covers this website and its waitlist. A future Avalon product, beta, application, or recording feature may be covered by additional privacy notices before it is made available.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Your email address when you request access.
- An optional referrer email address. Only provide someone else’s address if you have their permission to do so.
- Information you include when making a privacy request or communicating with us.
Information processed automatically
Our hosting, form, and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, timestamps, request logs, and similar data needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain security. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers on this website.
Device-local storage
We use browser local storage to remember whether this browser has viewed the Avalon introduction and whether it has successfully completed the waitlist form. These preference flags do not contain your email address and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Clearing this website’s browser data removes them and restores the first-visit experience.
No audio collection on this website
The interactive Avalon demonstration is visual only. Pressing its buttons on this website does not activate your microphone, record audio, or transmit a conversation.
3. How and why we use information
We use personal information to:
- process and manage waitlist, early-access, and beta-testing requests;
- attribute referrals and administer related referral programs or promotions;
- send operational messages and relevant Avalon product updates;
- respond to questions and privacy requests;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website; and
- comply with law and protect people, Avalon, and our services.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent or request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the waitlist, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
4. When information is disclosed
We may disclose information to vendors that help us operate the website and waitlist, including website hosting, database, security, and email providers. Waitlist and privacy-request submissions are stored in a private server-side database and are available only through access-controlled administrative systems.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Retention
We keep waitlist information while the waitlist and related launch or beta activities remain active and for a reasonable period afterward to maintain records, unless you ask us to delete it. We may retain information longer when necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups and system logs.
6. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Avalon and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, providers use recognized transfer safeguards.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You can opt out of non-essential email at any time by using the unsubscribe method in the message or submitting the form below. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a decision or complain to your local data-protection authority.
California residents may have rights to know, correct, and delete personal information and to receive equal service when exercising their rights. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share” link.
We do not use personal information from this website to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We may need to verify your request, and authorized agents may be asked for proof of authority.
8. Make a privacy request
Use this form to request access, correction, deletion, or an email opt-out. Please submit the email address associated with your waitlist entry so we can locate it.
9. Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 13, do not submit the waitlist or privacy forms. If you believe a child has provided information, use the request form above so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Avalon and its services evolve. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required by law. Materially different collection or use by a future product will be described before that processing begins.
